During the students' enrolment ceremony for the 2021 session on Friday , its president Datuk Vincent Lau said the committee in its recent meeting had decided to put in more effort to recruit non-Chinese students."We would like Chinese primary and secondary schools to become an alternative for all Malaysians to receive an education," he said.
Lau said in its effort to encourage non-Chinese students to enrol in the 14 Chinese independent secondary schools, the committee would be allocating a sum of RM350,000 to assist these students in paying their school fees.The sum would be coming from the RM9mil that the state government had given to Chinese independent schools this year.
"Non-Chinese students will have to study in the Chinese primary school first before they can enrol in secondary school as they need to build their foundation first," Lau said.
