Education Minister Norma Foley has been urged to address the Dail over concerns about the reopening of schools.Labour’s Aodhan O Riordain said: “I have written to the Business Committee to request that ministers Foley and [Josepha] Madigan take questions in both the Dail and Seanad in relation to school reopening.

It was packed lunches, new schoolbags and hand sanitiser for kids who returned to more than 4,000 primary and second level schools on Tuesday. Bishop of Limerick Brendan Leahy asked people to be patient and supportive as schools get back up and running. “To date, this is the sum total of the PPE, sanitiser and cleaning resources sent to our school from the department. Five tubs of wipes – not even one tub per class.Meanwhile, a leading medic insisted parents can send their children to school even with a runny nose.
