However Dr Mary Favier insisted that parents must remain vigilant

Dr Mary Favier, President of the Irish College of General Practitioners, said young children will have 'sniffles' throughout most of the winter, and it is not any cause for alarm.

Dr Favier told Morning Ireland on RTE Radio One: "The kind of things parents are asking are: 'What do I do if my child is sick?', 'How do I decide how sick my child is sick and whether they should go to school?'.
