This Maine county has reported fewer than 40 coronavirus cases since March. But even here, going back to school looks different — including half the students attending school in the morning, half in the afternoon, and temperature checks before class.

cases since March. In mid-August, Charlie's school district, MSAD 42, opened its doors for in-person learning.

But even in an area with low infection rates, back to school looks a little different, beginning before students even arrive in the classroom. At the entrance of Fort Street Elementary School, Charlie and other students put on masks or face shields, as mandated by the state. Then they stand in a line, 6 feet apart, and walk toward a teacher for a temperature check before going to class.

There are many solutions to keep vulnerable teachers—those over 55 and with conditions that put them at higher risk—safe, such as offering them early retirement and reassigning them to virtual jobs

Yeah I read that NJ only has 171 new cases; but we are ONLY testing 2.3 people in 1,000! How about ME, how many people are being tested & where are the hot spots? I just heard that a Wedding in Maine 50% of the guest now have covid.
