Oxford University Covid-19 vaccine firm denies Trump talks

The company manufacturing the Oxford University coronavirus vaccine has denied it is in talks with the Trump administration about fast-tracking its vaccine for emergency use ahead of November’s presidential elections.

Rushing to find a solution (either by approving unproven methods like plasmatherapy or announcing that America will get a vaccine soon) for a pandemic whose response he has spectacularly screwed up, in a desperate attempt to win reelection. What a pathetic human being.

AstraZeneca won't be granting this until they're happy with the signals from Phase III trials. The potential reputational damage from a premature rollout and associated problems would be huge.
