'Our school gave us plexiglass tri-folds, which we felt would overwhelm our little ones. So we took the design and turned them into little Jeeps,' one of the teachers told CNN.

That's why two first grade teachers in DeLand, Florida, decided to transform their students' desks into little Jeeps.Patricia Dovi, 35, and Kim Martin, 51, of St. Barnabas Episcopal School spent a week redesigning the desks, which feature construction paper tires, headlights and license plates. The desks have three-sided plastic dividers that serve as windshields and side windows as well as sneeze guards.

Many students said they could hardly wait to take their desks for a test drive, the teachers said.Dovi and Martin's collaboration came naturally. Not only are their classrooms connected by an adjoining door, but they often share lesson plans and supplies. Some teachers wrote their own obituaries as part of their back to school prep"St. Barnabas Episcopal School is blessed to have such collaborative teachers and forward thinking teachers," Paul Garcia, head of the school, told CNN.

I'll going back to school

That's so stupid, teachers are supposed to be smart.

westchesterS_ We’re still looking for our “angel donor” to help save our school! While we still look, we’re hoping to raise as much as we can to help out our teachers who have been left jobless in the middle of a pandemic. Please donate if you can! savestpauls

westchesterS_ Please help us get to the bottom of the Archdiocese of NY’s actions this summer by closing 20 schools in the middle of the pandemic. This is after they received millions in government aid, where did that money go? savestpauls

✌🏻

Such a wonderful idea!

Why are they only on the front, none of this makes sense. How does recess work, do kids ride the bus together. Wtf, where is the logic. Those lil germ spreaders go home to adults. So to grandparents!

Very creative

Very creative 🙂

Kudos to these kind and creative teachers. What a great idea to make the little kiddos more comfortable in school during this challenging time.

Humanity ❤

oh thank god the virus can't travel sideways lol

And you did that because Will give you the basic necessities to do your job and keep everyone safe. And then you have to do your job as a teacher to make it comfortable.

Lemonade 🍋 too cute!

This teacher needs a raise.

❤️

So cool! Bless your hearts!

Very cool- nice job educators!!!

That’s adorable, teachers are so creative.

Pretty cool ,,, but I hope they aren't eighth graders ....lol

I think it's good that the children are being protected from covid, but on the other hand I am concerned this is teaching the children distracted driving

🙂

Adorable, but really?

That's like using a strainer to carry water.... besafe

Love it

The virus loves your idiot ' classroom jeeps'. CoronavirusOutbreak

Very creative.

SunaYildizoglu wow 😯

oh nice... will they carry those plexiglass things all over the place, because if not, they are useless.

If you learn from China’s epidemic prevention measures, you still have to call it China’s fault. . . . . What logic. . . .

Awesome idea..

Y not put their names on the license plate? Vanity plates cost more there too?

More show of proof cousins should not marry

How wonderful!! I taught Grade 1 for many years and this idea brings tears to my eyes at this effort to make the kids feel safe and excited behind their wall of plexiglass. What an amazing idea. Applause, applause ❣️❣️❣️

The younger generation is going to grow up ALL f'd up.I can see these kids not being ABLE to form relationships with others.I can see them not dating, not marrying, not wanting to go out anywhere at all, not wanting to communicate. PEOPLE CONTACT BAD is all they will be taught.

Those plexiglass may not be100% effective in preventing the spread of ultra-tiny virus particles that stay aloft in the air for hours (possibly days if they can be stirred up in dust).

Nice

They get paid way too little

Nah dude, this is just sad.

Only thing I like about this is that they are Jeeps! The rest of it sucks so much for our kids!

Awesome!!!’

There's a lot of good too. Thankfully.

There are still good decent wonderful people left in the world. Warmed my heart.

How creative, bread idea

Very cute

Well they should drive those 'little jeeps' right out of the school because it's dangerous putting those kids back into a classroom during a pandemic.

Might as well make the plexiglass bullet proof as well.

The Sheep fall for anything --- this is embarassing.

they forgot the top with an ac and filter, infront a hearing n speaker, and green light for question and red for bathroom. white light for lunch yet

And that’s why teachers should run the world ❤️ Jeep

I'll be glad when Conservatives win and things can go back to reality. BTW: Charter Schools are a wonderful alternative to public schools. No whiny Union to deal with either. We have like 25 here in Orlando area and kids can attend any one they want!

That's very creative!

Back in the sixties we were taught to hide under our desks if we saw a bright flash from a Russian nuclear bomb attack.

Very cute. But why are teachers having to handle this on their own? Are the kids expected to stay seated facing forward for 6 hours?

Plexiglass making $ like a boss. I wish I invested in some of those companies 😂
