Confidence in the government’s approach to schooling during the coronavirus pandemic took a hit last week when education minister Gavin Williamson was forced into an embarrassing U-turn over examination results. Evidence showed that a lack of schooling increased inequalities, reduced opportunities and could exacerbate physical and mental health issues, the statement said.
“The percentage of symptomatic cases requiring hospitalisation is estimated to be 0.1% for children aged 0-9 and 0.3% among those aged 10-19, compared to a hospitalisation rate of over 4% in the UK for the general population,” the statement said.
That’s bs. Kids can die of covid. Not many die from staying home.
All parents agree I’m sure So what’s the strategy for ensuring that they can stay open long term?
Are our politicians hearing it

Being ill and dying is greater risk.
Bullshit! DEATH IS PERMANENR!
Well the decline of the British Empire continues on schedule, I see.
How can You Trust & Believe a Country UK where everybody got bad Teeth!
Well, now, isn't that just sweet of 'em? Right. Let's just push those voiceless, voteless children into risky situations & wring our hands when they get sick or die or their parents do. That's a whole different kind of education.
Who has a classroom like this? fordnation Sflecce have okayed up to 30 students in our classrooms. UnsafeSeptemberON
Its the TRUTH

Please do a study about the risks that opening schools poses to teachers and parents
Missing school doesn't kill children, COVID-19 does!
We as a species are screwed lookaround
yes they miss interaction, miss fun, miss learnings, miss peer learning, miss overall development, miss centered learning . But online edu help them to be socialising, getting angry, distracted to other tech worlds specially gaming. They need a special session just when reopening
This is nuts, there has been a push to get kids back in school since lockdown began. Why? Workers won't go back to jobs without childcare. School = state funded childcare. Get kids in school = no excuses for not going to office. The economy is worth more than YOUR health.
Agreed
Smart people find alternatives. Dumb people insist on doing the same thing, regardless of the risk. Kids may survive, but they infect teachers, their sibling, their parents and grandparents. At least the child survived and can be adopted.
Right because a bunch of teenagers learning pointless things like pythagoras theorem and outdated colonialism is sooo much more important than the lives of themselves and their older family members... seriously this country has lost the plot.
do they know that COVID is a disease you get that can kill you? Like has anyone told them?
OK, how about their parents and grandparents who take care of them when they come home?
I can give you a thousand reasons why it’s not
Asian countires go to school... whute trash countires omit school... now u know why asians are smrter than white people
