USI President Lorna Fitzpatrick welcomed the flexible arrangements that some third level institutions have announced but said this needs to be extended to all institutions and the private sector

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Lorna Fitzpatrick welcomed the flexible arrangements that some third level institutions have announced but said this needs to be extended to all institutions and the private sector.

Ms Fitzpatrick said the uncertainty is causing a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety for students and their families. Speaking on the same programme, Cian Ó Coinleáin, University of Limerick Student Union President, said the union is happy that flexible accommodation arrangements at UL have been put in place for students this coming semester.

They will be given a specific time on a Friday when they need to check out to allow for deep cleaning to take place throughout the weekend.
