Chairman, Committee of Vice Chancellors and Registrars of Private Universities

There must be an appropriate teaching, learning and research environment in any tertiary institution, comprising standard physical facilities, well-managed classrooms and lecture theatres, well equipped laboratories and libraries, available school-based health support and a clear and fair disciplinary policy.

Some private universities rely on their strength to source funds such as the Redeemer’s and Babcock universities, even Adeleke University, and they are making steady progress. But research findings of this sort are not written on the pages of newspapers. There are standard procedures in science that credible researchers employ in reporting their research findings. There are peer reviews to certify such findings before they go into further authentic ovations, testing, etc.

It is true that the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Private Universities wrote to the NUC and proffered suggestions and guidelines to enable private universities to reopen.
