Unpopular opinion: college student-athletes are being tested and contact traced WAY more than the general student body. Cancelling their season does almost nothing to minimize the infection risk. And you're removing their best incentive to isolate from others.
Not free labor. They get a college education for it. And it's also a dream come true to play college sports for most kids.

I watched that interview and it was powerful. The TV people want college players to play for the money, and Republicans want the kids to play so we can all pretend that everything is normal. We must wait until Covid 19 is under control.
American football is a horror show. The athletes are the only ones I have any goddamn respect for.
The kids are welcome to quit and pay for college via student loans (or cash money) like the rest of us. Nobody forces them to play ball, just in case anybody forgot.
