In Tennessee, school districts will receive 27 million disposable masks and 298,000 reusable masks.That doesn't appear to be the case in California. The California Department of Education has distributed 1.9 million cloth masks, 1.3 million face shields and 2.

Brian Ferguson, deputy director for crisis communication for the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, anticipates FEMA will cover 75% of the supplies distributed to schools there. In Indiana, school districts have obtained protective equipment through the CARES Act, local and state general funds, and donations from the community, Kitchen said.As school districts wait for supplies, some teachers worry the burden will fall on them. 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and over 60,000 died. This year was supposed to be one of the deadliest flu seasons yet, where did these numbers go? Why weren’t we all wearing masks then?

In WW2, my grandfather was in charge of switching the production line at GM to make weapons. A national response to help companies make toilet paper, PPE, etc would go a long way to getting kids back in school.
