We really are turning into an authoritarian dictatorship under the Trump Republican Party. We no longer are free to peacefully protest. The Mormons do not stand for the pledge so why does she have too?

Well the Supreme Court disagrees. Who the f*** does this ass have think he is?

Taught racism by parents!

With the help of the Repukes in the once great nation, we move closer and closer to being Russia! They are ALL traitors to America!!! voteblueinNovember

Texas already getting the jack boots out for the goose stepping? I thought in the USA that’s exactly what someone can do even if every other man women or child disagrees Do we now only support freedom of speech if it’s popular? SAD

they continue to remix the constitution to reduce "Blacks" rights and to deflect on Trumps injustice while having the most powerful seat in the White House. smh texasgov Texas is deadwrong for this. KenPaxtonTX watch out for his wrath 🤨😡😵🤫

ATLANTA (AP) — Students at an Atlanta school will no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance to start their school day. it has become "increasingly obvious" during the past couple of years that more people were choosing not to stand or recite the pledge.

Yes they can. So said the Supreme Court. Paxton is up for reelection and is willing to use this child as a bid to rally a base.

If it goes against ones beliefs

Wow..."land of the free" , huh?

Hey, let’s keep relitigating the same shit over and over because white dudes yearn for a pre-FDR world.

the school wishes to train good soldiers, not good civilians

That's not true I went to school with two little girls who stayed in the office during the pledge because of their religion. 1964

Yes they can although I would never not participate in it

Ugh... Texas... SMH.

tyranny is tyranny let it come from whom it may

Freedom of speech is what our country was created. This is sad, let’s allow our children to speak (or not speak) for themselves.

You cannot compel one to stand, nor recite, the Pledge of Allegiance, absent a disability .Students do not lose all of their Constitutional Rights at the school hose door. I guess she has been watching too much NFL Football. Thanks to Kaepernick!

They did for prayer in school and changed the fabric of choice.

GOOD..THEY NEED TO LEARN WHAT LOYALTY IS TO THEIR COUNTRY...USA..

I grew up in Texas and there were more times than I can count that kids did not stand up for the pledge because “they didn’t feel like it” and they were never disciplined! This girl’s constitutional rights do not go away when she walks into school.

Texas needs to get rid of Ken Paxton or leave the union.

Apparently KenPaxtonTX has never heard of the FirstAmendment What kind of American does that make him?

Texas was around in 1943, right? Back when the Supreme Court said nobody can be forced to recite the pledge. You don’t stop children’s education because you’re uneducated.

they can and they should

But they can... And the government can’t make them. Check the Amendments KenPaxtonTX Should not take too long, it is in the First one

Probably on this ACLU?

lusadler Guess it takes an organized movement

The school could have easily made this into a civics lesson for the school and openly talked about protesting ect.. Expelled kinda harsh for a child don't ya think.

Texas needs to seriously secede from the union

They absofuckinglutely can.

They can if their parents send a letter.

I guess the 1st Amendment doesn't exist Texas unless in support of conservative.

KenPaxtonTX Sir... what law school did you go to? Because you are wrong, and should be disbarred.

This is f'in BS, it's anyone's right (or so it should be) if they so choose to not stand for the flag. I myself stand, but again, that's my choice. Do we live under a ruler?, Not last time I checked, although it feels that way more and more...

So much for free speech. These Republicans in Texas hate our Constitution and Bill of Right so much. That's why they're called deplorables.

Cue the goose-steppers.

This mother and daughter aren't happy in US...move to another country

Sue. Take it to the Supreme Court before Kavanaugh gets there🙄🙄🙄

The freedom from opressions which forced Patriotism is! It is Do as is Say or ELSE! Read the requitment papers! No Flag, no Pledge!
