We are here to talk about online learning and ways to better address kids' mental health remotely, as many districts prepare to start the year online. Ask us anything!Hi, I’m Erin Richards and I'm USA TODAY's national K-12 education reporter. I work out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but I cover school issues all over the country.

My team has been writing about how American education is being re-shaped by the coronavirus pandemic. Everybody hoped that kids would return to in-person instruction this fall, but almost all districts are planning for either 100% virtual or part-virtual instruction.

My question is...where is the money going on that was given to have IN SCHOOL learning There has to be a BIG surplus considering they r not using the buildings...and I’m sorry but if I have to teach my kids and pay someone while I’m at work, school budgets need CUTTING.
