SAO PAULO - Brazilian billionaire Jorge Lemann's foundation and other business interests will fund the building of factory to produce the Covid-19 vaccine being developed by Oxford University and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

Brazil is approaching 100,000 deaths from Covid-19 in the world's worst coronavirus outbreak after the United States. Other donors to the initiative to ensure Brazil can absorb the technology to produce the potential vaccine include Brazilian brewer Ambev, Itau Unibanco, the Votorantim Institute and the Behring Family Foundation.
