Early-years workers quit 'underpaid and undervalued' jobs

According to Liz Bayram, chief executive of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years, childminder numbers are"in freefall".

The report urges the government to convene an expert group to devise a new careers strategy, to include:a plan to attract people into the profession later in their careers, andImage copyrightTulip Siddiq , the shadow minister for children and early years, said years of underfunding was"driving talented staff out of the sector and letting down the young children whose life chances are shaped by vital early education".

"We are supporting their career progression through better qualifications, more apprenticeship opportunities and routes to graduate level qualifications," it said.

When parents are asking to pay only for an hour here and an hour there. When parents pay up to £15 per hour for a cleaner. When parents pay more for someone to walk their dog. You can see why childminders and other early years workers feel undervalued.

This has been going on for years ... the amount of paperwork like part caused my breakdown and me being signed off with depression and anxiety... parents would shout out at us too because little flissy and got paint on her new dress!! We say wear old clothes for this reason!

Yes i agreed . In Malaysia , the kindergarden teachers are just like nanny . They are paid at the mininum wages of RM900-1,200per month . Miserable pay !
