Ontario premier will announce today how schools will reopen in September

The announcement comes just six weeks before back-to-school season and a week before the province's 72 school boards were initially asked to outline their plans for the academic year.

"Is everyone nervous? Are parents nervous? Sure, they're nervous, I'm nervous everyone is nervous when you're dealing with kids,” Ford said. “There's going to be two million kids going back to class and 140,000 teachers. That's concerning." Dr. Jeffrey Pernica, the medical director of infectious diseases at McMaster University in Hamilton, says masks are not the sole line of defence against COVID-19. Pernica says masks can be distracting to younger children, and can have other potential harm if not worn correctly.

The doctors say evidence is mounting that young children don't play a "significant role" in spreading COVID-19, compared to teenagers and other adults.

Glad kids are going back to school. Be safe everyone. My kids are going to be so happy to see their friends again and get an education!

Please, don’t make a mistake by sending kids to the school , which will probably be concurrent with the second wave of COVID19 , otherwise you will loose so many of youngsters.

I feel so uneasy about sending kids back to school . I thank God I don’t have to make that decision anymore but my heart goes out to parent who do.

Whatever it is there should be an opt out for kids and parents who r fine w virtual learning. Forcing my kids to go back when they're safer and more comfortable at home seems wrong

I don’t think they will make elementary school children wear masks hopefully as my lil guy is fidgety as it is.

Again, Ford why just certain cities, do not all kids in small towns or rual areas where Covid is less then 1% not considered. They have a right to be educated too, you'd figure to start off with less effected areas & work out wards to more higher populated areas.

Get ready for a whole lot of teacher whining.

Wearing face coverings is either effective or not. They can’t be good for some but not others. This just shows the folly of making them mandatory.

Me casually watching and knowing that no matter what decision made .... half of parents are going to be pissed some how.

You put these kids in these hot classrooms with masks on ur going to have vomit and sick kids everywhere. You alternate days and you screw up parents work. Ford is going to screw this up guaranteed.

Who heads back to class in September?
