The sister of one of four university students killed in a horror crash in the Gold Coast hinterland has shared her regret over their last interaction. 9News

Townsville woman Katrina McKeough, 21, was travelling with friends Courtney Smith, 20, Kirsten Van Gorp, 22, and Lochlan Parker, 20 when Ms Van Gorp lost control while turning a bend and collided with an oncoming ute.

The accident happened in Advancetown, on Nerang Murwillumbah Road near the intersection with Beechmont Road at around 1pm on Saturday. Andrea McKeough has shared her heartbreak over fighting with her sister Katrina before she died in a crash on Saturday. "I loved my sister so much and I feel wretched knowing that the last time we spoke, we fought. Badly," Katrina's sister shared in a heartbreaking Facebook post."All I can say is to keep your loved ones close and to cherish every moment."

Lochlan Parker, Courtney Smith, Katrina McKeough and Kirsten Van Gorp were killed in the Gold Coast hinterland crash.Police said the crash scene was horrific and first responders were offered counselling for what they saw.
