Beijing’s attempts to violently force Muslim minorities to assimilate have finally caught the attention of politicians, says James McMurray of the Asia Centre, University of Sussex

At last it appears that the British government is willing to address what is perhaps the greatest ongoing human rights atrocity on the planet: the mass incarceration and mistreatment of Uighurs and other minority Muslim people of China’s northwestern Xinjiang region. On Sunday, the foreign secretary, Dominic Raab, publicly recognised the “gross and egregious human rights abuses” under way there, despite the denials of the Chinese ambassador, Liu Xiaoming.

Britain has ethics? Doubt.

What about Yemen? What about Saudi Arabia? What about Russia ? What about Israel? What about Syria? What about Iran? What about Ethics?

Well, this article just in time to pamper Mike Pompeo.

Stop your bullshit.

How about keeping up the ethical pressure on your own government against lying to the world about Iraq & Libya to invade, kill, conquer & steal their oil? China has a terrorism problem with ISIS & Al Qaeda recruitment of Uighurs. It isn’t making up lies to invade other nations.

China is dealing with thousands of Xinjiang Uighur terrorists who were recruited by ISIS. Many fought in Syria, captured and returned to China. Since 2009, many have embarked on terrorist activities in China. Why wont the global media explain huge problem of terrorism in China?

Britain has no 'pressure' to keep up.

Hey James! Quit the lectures, eh?

UK followed US's order to invade Iraq even though it knew the evidence was fake . Same's happening with xinjiang , just the diffence is that China has nukes .

this is a report from OIC, have you ever read this report or is your editor in chief, Mike Pompeo?

Talking about 'ethics'... 👇

ethical option.... LMAO!!!! Guardian, you clearly dont know British Government very well do you!?

A country waged war against another country to push for opium trade is now talking about “ethical option”. Lol.

Britain has never had morals, it was all lies.

What are Britain ethical options to not put pressure on US over the concentration camps in the Mexico border?

There is too many words in this blurb. It should be: 'Britain has no ethical option.'

Britain has no ethical right to tell any nation how to behave

Ethics, like charity, begins at home. How’s the UK doing on key domestic questions? Conduct during referendums and elections; Covid and care homes, lockdowns, accuracy of statistics; Brexit negotiations, trade deal prospects and economic outlooks? Easier to look over yonder...

We can all help by boycotting Chinese made goods. Sent from my iPhone.

The U.K. should put pressure on the USA, to stop killing and arbitrarily arresting blacks people.

If u want pressure on China, shine a light on the ,big tech triad in the USA.
