Over 61,000 fresh graduates here can sign up for three- to six-month programmes offered by Institutes of Higher Learning to earn micro-credentials or certifications and further their skills amid the COVID-led economic downturn.

Such offerings are made available to more than 45,000 Singaporean and permanent resident graduates from the Institute of Technical Education and the polytechnics, including alumni who will complete their full-time national service this year, said the Ministry of Education on Tuesday .

These programmes include over 250 Nitec and Higher Nitec module certificates for ITE graduates, covering areas such as hospitality operations, international logistics, engineering, network security and robotics. Meanwhile, fresh graduates of the autonomous universities can choose from over 100 micro-credentials spread across various domains, such as business analytics, communications, digital marketing strategies, and gerontology.

Since April, the ITE and polytechnics have offered their graduates from the class of 2020 at least two complimentary CET modules or course credits.
