Florida teachers are suing to block what they call the 'reckless and unsafe reopening' of public school campuses for face-to-face instruction.

Florida teachers sued Monday to block what they call the “reckless and unsafe reopening” of public school campuses for face-to-face instruction.

“Everyone wants schools to reopen, but we don’t want to begin in-person teaching, face an explosion of cases and sickness, then be forced to return to distance learning,” Ingram added.Florida reported another 10,000 new coronavirus cases on Monday, the 12th day since the Fourth of July the number has topped that threshold. The state Department of Health reported 10,347 new cases and 90 deaths.

The upcoming plan to have the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville to renominate President Donald Trump continues to be on shaky ground. Even after the GOP announced plans to scale back the convention and hold more events outside, the local sheriff said people’s safety cannot be guaranteed.

“Parents need to choose the best environment for their students, their kids,” the Republican governor said. “If a teacher doesn’t feel comfortable there ... I think they should be given as many options as possible.”

No work then no pay!!! My nephews teacher was teaching his class while on a walk on a trail. Another was seen Online drinking wine with students on google connect.

Lmao do they not know that federal unemployment ends this week? Florida’s unemployment is $200 lmao GOOD LUCK

Of course they want to chill at home watch Netflix eat snacks and get paid via direct deposit

REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS are always the LAST to do the RIGHT thing and the FIRST to do the WRONG thing…

Of course. It’s the democrat election platform going into the election. Duh 🤷🏽‍♂️

A noble gesture that will not work in our rigged state court system but at least they are taking a shot at it. But at least the Florida electorate will know that teachers are concerned about the dangers we are courting and the consequences that will follow...

katalin_pota But I thought that's where they made idiots? It's cool. It seems Florida already stocked up.

Is realDonaldTrump our only hope to get schools back? Has it really come down to this?!?! Why aren’t teachers considered essential workers like the others? Do they not want to? Do they not want to teach our kids? Or is this political?

Don't send your kids to school yet, too early.

Regan time, fire all the teachers and hire new ones just like air traffic control

Yet, no one complains about Walmart being open.

Florida Teachers Union Sues Governor DeSantis Over School ReopeningsThe Florida Education Association, which represents 140,000 school employees, says the plan to reopen schools violates the state constitution. Every time I see him, I just wonder what kind of grades he earned in school or college, if he went. He carries one of the most clueless looking countenances I've ever seen.

Teachers union sues Florida to halt in-class school re-opening amid pandemicThe Florida Education Association, which represents teachers in the state, filed suit against the state on Monday, claiming the planned restart of classroom instruction next month during the pandemic would jeopardize the health of its members and students. If the teachers do not wish to work, fire them! The unions are corrupt and little more than a tool for bankrupt agendas. This kind of crap betrays the true priorities of many teachers and more so of the unions and politicians who support this selfish neglect of children. Time for union busting. Just like the flight controllers in the 1980s. Watch this one go to the Supreme Court and have five justices sentence children and teachers to death
