Thin Rachel, Dr. Ford didn't say that her lawyer was wrong in the statement she out out, she said that Keyaer apologized. The apology was more probably offered because she was unable to corroborate Dr. Ford's allegations.
The text was an apology to Ford not a statement saying she was retracting her statement put out by her legal counsel. If it was, Ford would of used it in her statement in the hearing.
I would say that K's defense was the finest of the evening. Ironically, it may be studied in classes on Rhetoric and Law for decades to come.
