A small number of home testing kits will be sent to all schools and colleges by the start of next term, Mr Williamson vowed.In cases where an outbreak is feared, a mobile testing unit could be dispatched to schools to test others who have been in contact with the infected person - with priority for their class, then year, then the whole school if necessary.Limits on class sizes will be scrapped, and bubbles can encompass a whole class or a whole year group of potentially more than 200 students.
Mr Williamson said the government"has to" move back to compulsory education, but stressed fines are not the first action schools take when children are absent.Mr Williamson said pupils will be allowed to use school buses, but they could be segregated to ensure children remain in their bubbles.
