Groups representing U.S. doctors, teachers and top school officials on Friday pushed back against pressure from President Donald Trump to fully reopen U.S. schools, saying science must guide the decisions. The teachers union in the nation’s second-largest school district on Friday recommended keeping school campuses closed when the semester begins on Aug. 18.
She said she is also worried that if something upsetting happens at her son’s school in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, teachers will not be able to properly console children from six feet away.

These same people expect the grocery shelves to be stocked, plumbers to fix their toilets, garbage to hauled away. But somehow school is not essential?

I don’t feel safe sending my 6th grader to school. We can’t even get adults to follow the rules. I’m not sending her to school, open or not- until I feel it’s safe. And I probably won’t feel it’s safe until we have a president who isn’t trying to kill us.
