Do you agree with the idea that women’s dressing is one of the things that attract rapists to them, even toddlers? One important caution for women with small children: PLEASE, stop leaving your little girls in the custody of neighbourhood ‘uncles’! We really must learn to protect our children, especially the girls. Also, mothers should not tell their girls that they are telling lies when they report to them that they are being harassed. Somehow, the thinking is that the girls and women themselves must have done something to invite the attention of the rapist. This is unfair.
However, a stiff prison sentence, maybe 25 years plus hard labour may be recommendable. And the judgment must be quickly delivered – not like those cases that go on for years. The important thing is to make sure that the penalty serves as a real deterrent. Rape judgment should be quickly delivered
