PETALING JAYA: This is the country’s best achievement so far in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2021, says the Higher Education Ministry: for the first time ever, all five Malaysian research universities have been ranked among the world’s top 200.

This, the ministry said, proves that the country’s higher education is on the right track in providing quality higher education institutions, in line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 .The universities are Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

“The QS report also stated that Malaysia is one of the countries that showed the best improvement, ” it said in a statement on Wednesday . Happy with its rise in rankings, UM vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Hashim said the results were a recognition of the varsity being a high calibre research and educational institution.
