Liberal Senator Alex Antic says Australia’s experience with China’s Education Ministry and Chinese students shows how reliant we are on China and “to the whims of the Chinese Communist Party”.

The Chinese Education Ministry has released a statement urging its students to “do a risk assessment” and strongly reconsider travelling to Australia to attend university. The statement said the spread of the “new global pneumonia” has not been “effectively controlled” causing further risks to international travel and open campuses.

Senator Antic told Sky News host Peter Gleeson it seems China has taken the view it’s going to put its “capital into countries which have signed up to the Belt and Roads Initiative” which means it has clearly “shown their hand in terms of their foreign investment”. “This is as much to do with strategic leverage and who can use in order to influence, as much as it is to actually making a dollar.

WHEN WILL THE LNP GOV MPS AND SENATORS STOP BAD MOUTHING CHINA THEY ARE ALREADY KNOWN AS THE WORST GOV IN OUR HISTORY THEY HAVE PUT AUSTRALIA BACK 50 YEARS, WE HAVE NO MONEY EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH THEY DESTROY.

The CCP is picking off all the smaller countries to bully but their biggest and most vocal critic, the US, well their rather quite. Be so glad to see the back of this long-standing farce of buying Australia for political and strategic power. Bye bye 🇨🇳 👋

Pity it took the CCPs relentless bullying and determination to destroy us economically to wake up. Now the gradual weaning off all Chinese investments in this country until we have replaced them with friendly and ethical trading partners.

Finally someone is talking about the elephant in the room. Australian Universities have become too lazy and reliant on one source of money.

Hope that Australia finally wakes up and stop selling its soul and treasured values for trade with China. It's just not worth it

Sure we are and iron ore and ass wipes
