Opinion | Natasha Noman: 'Blackout Tuesday' on Instagram was a teachable moment for allies like me. - NBCNewsTHINK

for organizers and protesters. The second problem was that, on a more theoretical level, silence is not really the preferred mode of allyship for something like police brutality. And as many black people explained, showing up, seeking out discourse about racial injustices and listening to and elevating black voices were much more important to many activists than inaction and reflection.

Invariably, as the backlash swelled Tuesday afternoon, warring factions emerged. The dialogue became reductive, self-righteous and at times hostile. THINK

THINK Nothing more helpful than posting a black image on Instagram to say 'look at ME, I 'care'! ' You know what black Tuesday solved? NOTHING! Just let us know how many people will virtue signal for the cause.

THINK The blacks for blacks and Antifa and black lives matter are racist terrorist organizations that has to wiped off the race from US and Western white land for good..,,

THINK Uh, if you think you're doing real work by posting a black square on Instagram you might want to reassess.

THINK You know winning the game of who’s a “better ally,” while a contest in eye-rolling vanity, might also be a pragmatic approach to getting change. We can critique these allies into hiding. Or we can unleash them and rely on liberal guilt to burn until reforms are achieved.

THINK Teaches us that BLM is based on lies:

THINK “I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will eventually triumph. And there is purpose and worth to each and every life.” -Ronald Reagan (not a commentary on Ronald Reagan)

THINK what kind of bs is this
