A private women's college in Georgia expelled a student over offensive social media posts, including one in which she used a racial slur against African Americans.

Wesleyan College in Macon condemned the posts as"abhorrent" and said they went against the school's mission and values. "Today Wesleyan administrators learned of racist statements and photos posted on a Wesleyan student’s social media," the school said in a Thursday."Such views have no place on our campus or within our community and we will act decisively when confronted by them."Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionThe college said it quickly launched an investigation into the posts"that led to the expulsion of the student, effective immediately."Let our news meet your inbox. Our Constitution declares it illegal to punish citizens for what they say. That student's free speech is just as protected as those who make denigrating remarks about our president. Those being illegally punished in this manner need to hire a lawyer and sue for their rights.
