UNIBEN reacts to rape, murder of 100 level student

The victim was a 100-level Microbiology student of the institution before her travail.

In the statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Benin, the VC said the actions were condemnable and should not be condoned by any society. While commiserating with the bereaved family on the loss of their daughter, Mrs Salami prayed God to grant her soul peaceful rest.

This part of the VC's statement was unnecessary as it 'seems' to pass a subtle message that victims of the crime of rape or any other crime, are to blame based on where they go or the company they keep. While this might not be the intention of the message, it's an interpretation.
