BEIJING - Beijing will reopen universities, more classes in elementary and middle schools, as well as kindergartens, according to the Beijing Municipal Education Commission yesterday .

Kindergartens where such measures have been implemented will reopen from June 8, but parents can decide if they want to send their kids back to the kindergartens. Feng Luzhao, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that education departments and schools should liaise with health authorities and nearby medical institutions to form mechanisms of coordination in the fight against the virus.
