Live: NSW Now: Students begin staggered return to classrooms, COVID-19 fines on the decline

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has praised the community for higher levels of adherence to coronavirus restrictions, with far fewer daily fines issued for beaches of the Public Health Order.

In the past three days, police have issued a total of 14 penalties — three on Friday, seven on Saturday, and four on Sunday. However, signs in the windscreens of the taxis state they have been temporarily deregistered due to COVID-19 and parked under the Point to Point Transport Regulation.Taxis from several different companies have been parked on streets around Burwood as well as in the Dan Murphy's carpark.A Charles Sturt University project in Bathurst is investigating the use of artificial intelligence to test for COVID-19.

Professor Manoranjan Paul said the study was the first of its kind in the world and the tools were hoped to be ready for clinical use soon.
