The teacher was teaching and supervising students on site at Meadowglen Primary School in recent days before receiving a positive result yesterday.
The school will be closed from Monday through to Wednesday while it is thoroughly cleaned and Victoria Health conducts contact tracing of any potential close contacts of the staff member.Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said the case was evidence Victoria was doing the right thing pursing at-home learning.
"I understand there was a small number of students present at the school in recent days," Ms Mikakos said. "All those families were contacted in the first instance, but the whole school has now been notified." The teacher is one of 13 new cases recorded in Victoria after more than 9000 tests were conducted in a blitz yesterday.
