Sky News host Sharri Markson says the debate around whether students returning to schools has “turned fierce with teachers’ unions, premiers and the commonwealth each holding a different view”.

Ms Markson said due to the impasse, parents of school children are “left in the centre of it, uncertain of the right thing to do”. “Teachers worry that it’s not safe for them to work while parents struggle to hold down a job, and home-school their children”.

Of all the wide-ranging issues to come out of the coronavirus pandemic, education is “on top of the prime minister’s agenda” as he has maintained from the very beginning there is no medical advice to suggest students should not attend school. “He insists children should return to school as soon as possible, and that the classroom is perfectly safe for teachers if they socially distance,” she said.

SharriMarkson Omg “click bat”

What ever happened to school being compolsary students have to go to school UNLESS the unions don't want to Gladys why aren't you enforcing this the same way your forcing healthy people to be locked away PATHETIC good luck come election time 👎😠

Oh? Seems like it's just the LNP snd the Murdoch press.

Let’s recognize this for what it is: an industrial dispute. Disclose to all the union’s ‘real’ demands and I’d bet it isn’t safety.

Don't let CCP students return to universities is a good start.

SharriMarkson Don't pay them then like the otger3 poor bastards out of work

I bet Slomo wishes he had shut the borders in feb and we would all be business as usual except tourism and universities. Tough on borders what a joke.

No one seems to care about our children's futures. All this political BS, sick of it.
