The group said that the number of students opting to take a gap year is up 9% from the year before but could spike in the year ahead.

That’s probably a good move. Why go to a college where you can’t socialize with other students. Just like I have no desire to hang out at restaurant if I have to social distance. Very frustrating for sure. For me. Being outside means to socialize and enjoy other’s company.
The irony will be if many defer, the ones that go to college will have smaller class sizes and more 1-1 experience with their Professors.
