The people making money shouldn’t be the people who are having student loans forgiven. There are people who have lost jobs and they have student loan debt from corrupt educational institutions who price gouge.
Any legislation to retire student debt needs to have a set aside for tax liability on the dismissed amounts, otherwise it counts as income. And yes, they are risking their lives in a medical battle theatre, same treatment the military receives when deployed .

Average pay for a new doctor is in the 150k range. More if you are a specialist. At most you pulled 240k to 350k for medical school. Average career for doctor is 30+ year. Pay your own loan good sir. It was a wise investment.
