A BRITISH coronavirus vaccine could be just weeks away as experts at Oxford University say they're "80 per cent confident" a new drug will work.
Colleague and fellow professor Peter Openshaw, who has advised the Government on vaccines and is vice chair of its virus advisory group Nervtag, is hopeful the vaccine will work and says signs should become clear very soon."We could see a signal very quickly. I do earnestly hope that in the next few weeks they get a positive signal."

Wonderful news! This is what we want for an independent UK!! Well done all concerned!! Really really hope it's effective. A word of caution however - must not be mandatory - a few bedside videos of coronavirus patients should be enough!!
First, Sun (as Saabir Suria said). Second, I've a PhD, and I know plenty of brilliant folk (great pedigree, prestigious jobs) in this sort of field who've been similarly confident in their discovery only to be proven 100% wrong by reality.
And the 20% means?
100% or No good. Don't build up our hopes only to have them dashed.

These vaccines take years of testing to ensure safety. Let them be option allowing travellers take a test at the airport before flying overseas. I can see the governments making them mandatory prematurely sadly.

My question is if every doctor graduates, learns everybody's immune systems must be treated individually. why does government not advice ppl to strengthen there immunity with all vitamins a/b/c/d and iron. People don't eat RIGHT so what use is a vaccine? More will die. WakeUp

I hope that the brightest scientist world wide are making a collaborative effort with this vaccine and there is no price gouging off of it for all countries equally.

🤔 Mass scale antibody testing is the way forward. A vaccine has to be tried and tested over a long period. Side effects could be severe.

why is the number of patients recovering is here not good compared to other countries? Why is there dead rate 10% health system problem rate? There is 75.000 person and 9.000 dead it is so bad ?
