Queensland Premier Anastacia Palaszczuk says the state’s schools will be student-free from Monday. but teachers will remain in classrooms to educate students of essential workers.
Similar measures are in place in South Australia with the implementation of four pupil-free days before the Easter break. In New South Wales and Western Australia, parents are encouraged to keep their children at home as remote learning becomes a priority. Schools in Victoria and the ACT have already started their school holidays. Image: Getty
I’m not sure if ScottMorrisonMP has set foot in a school recently, but there’s not a lot of education happening when over 50% of the schools pupils are away! Not to mention the anxiety that is being caused by the inconsistent messages amongst staff and students!
ScottMorrisonMP & GladysB will rue the day from not closing schools & consistently not valuing the lives of school students & staff. You will not be forgiven!
There’s no need to repeat something that we already know. Unfortunately, that should not be the case but it’s understandable. Either way, at or not at school, everyone should take the right measures and precautions to fight this virus
“Can parents bloody cool it about schools? If you don't want to send your kids don't, support teachers but don't stop nurses going to work or disadvantaged kids from staying safe when they live in abusive homes. So much judgement and hysteria.” Brilliant from samanthamaiden 👏
