Some Sydney private schools are urgently restricting contact between their students, other schools and the outside community to prevent transmission of coronavirus, as more than 250 children self-isolate after coming into close contact with a confirmed ...

The event, which is usually compulsory for some year groups, will be capped at 80 students per school, shrinking the attendees to a few hundred.

"More space between the schools, less demand for bathrooms and canteens, and fewer people present at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre will all help to reduce the risk of transmission. Waverley College will stop its students from going to the championship altogether, and has advised families against attending all non-essential teaching and learning events with 25 people or more.

Private schools have “self-isolated” for years.

The schools are being responsive and proactive in minimizing risk of outbreak by asking less students and spectators to attend this sporting event. Well done!

2-3 weeks they’ll all be closed, the hysteria is at fever pitch now.

They should also restrict contact with NRL players too, if the rumours coming out of the Bulldogs are true.
