Amid the heavy downpour brought by a low pressure area on Friday, the Bureau of Fire Protection responded to a fire call at the STI-West Negros University here. Chief Insp. Publio Ploteña, city fire marshal, the fire damaged some rooms at the second floor of the two-storey engineering building.Ploteña said the building has not been used for quite some time because of it is already an old structure. Its ceiling was made of mixed concrete and light materials, he added.The estimated cost of damage was pegged at P100,000. No injuries were reported.
