Woody Allen's publisher Hachette Book Group dropped his memoir after facing criticism

, whose legacy has come under fire in the age of the Me Too movement and a renewed interest in allegations he sexually abused his daughter.

The Monday announcement that Hachette, one of the Big Five publishing houses, would publish Allen’s memoir,Allen’s adopted daughter, when she was 7 years old—she and her brother, journalist Ronan Farrow, took to social media to express their disappointment about the book release. Ronan Farrow said, “It also shows a lack of ethics and compassion for victims of sexual abuse, regardless of any personal connection or breach of trust here,” and severed his relationship with Hachette, which last year published his bestsellingAllen has denied the accusation, and was never charged, and investigators at the time concluded that Dylan had not been abused,
