As someone who had subsidized lunch growing up it was always a meal I knew would be there everyday which is huge when you are a kid, I doubt ppl know how many friends they have on subsidized school lunch....

Lunch and breakfast should be part of the program. No discrimination re ability to pay. If school itself is compulsory and free then lunch and breakfast should also be free.

Also- loss of funding for public schools that have a federal lunch program- they receive ~25 cents per meal served in Medicare funding. So- indirectly harms public school funding as well.
