A British secondary school chemistry teacher jailed for planning to join Islamic State inJamshed Javeed was supposed to serve six years behind bars for planning to travel from his Manchester home to join the terror organisation.
They want to set up a specialist parole board panel to review cases following two terror attacks in the last three months that were carried out by convicted terrorists released from prison. Javeed was handed a nine-year sentence – six of those to be served behind bars with a three year licence period afterwards.
Terrorists on licence are banned from contacting accomplices or others with terror convictions and are ‘closely managed’ by probation, police and other authorities who share information on the risk they pose.There are 224 terrorists in prison in Britain, with most thought to be holding Islamist extremist views, according to the latest published figures to the end of September.

People like them need to serve more of their sentence and have stricter parole conditions
