On Oct. 7, 2019, student protesters prevented the then acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan from addressing the audience. Image: Jim Lo Scalzo/ShutterstockThe University of Montana asked students, staff and community members to participate in an essay contest on the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
When the school released the results last month, Montana students and race activists across the country accused university officials of racism and disrespect. That’s because all four winners were white. Turns out some would rather the school had honored King by judging entrants on the color of their skin rather than the content of their submissions.
opinion HMDatMI Montana did the right thing
opinion HMDatMI Why would you judge an essay contest based on race. So some drooling illiterate should win because of their color? Who comes up with this baloney?!
opinion HMDatMI Aside from students & professors who cares what's written in a college essay? Does this opinion writer need a safe space? What a snowflake! 🙄🙄🙄
opinion HMDatMI I too like to platform notorious far-right racist charlatans like Heather MacDonald. Race-science peddlers like Murray and Pinker love her, but actual academics in the fields she spreads bile in not so much. Kudos WSJ. Really sinking to the bottom.
opinion HMDatMI I'm in favor of any tweet that's trying to create divisiveness
