The University of Chicago and Carleton College top the lists of big-city and small-town colleges in the Midwest in the WSJ/THE College Rankings

The University of Chicago is the top big-city college in the Midwest and Carleton College is the region’s top small-town or rural school, according to the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings. The size of college towns is one of the many ways schools can be sorted with our ranking tool. Region is another—Northeast, South, Midwest or West.
