SONG: A secondary school teacher here was allegedly assaulted after reprimanding a 15-year-old student who rode a motorcycle to the school even though he did not have a licence.

Song district police chief Dept Supt Rowney Michael Jalak said the 26-year-old teacher saw the student riding a motorcycle into the school compound at about 11.50am on Friday .

"He told the student to stop doing so, but the student got agitated and started to assault him," he said. He added that the teacher, who was smaller in stature than the student, was floored in the assault and sustained bruises on his lips as well as cuts on his head and fingers. DSP Rowney said another teacher witnessed the incident, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
