Former Johor MB says he and Maszlee are 'victims of circumstances'

JOHOR BARU: One man who feels empathy for Dr Maszlee Malik following his resignation as Education Minister is his fellow Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia leader Datuk Osman Sapian.The Kempas assemblyman said Maszlee could no longer handle the pressure politically despite making positive inroads into the country's education system.

"I hope that Maszlee will stay strong during this difficult time and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours," he added. These included the introduction of Jawi calligraphy in the Year Four Bahasa Melayu module, Internet at schools and the free breakfast programme. "Cabinet reshuffle is on the cards as Maszlee's resignation has forced the Prime Minister to find a replacement immediately as it is an important portfolio.
