But her school wasn't feeling it.

this season. This was evidenced when a 13-year-old girl from south Manchester, England, was allegedly told that she would be sent home from school for fashioning her hair to look like a Christmas tree. That's right: a festive, adorable Christmas tree. With. Poppy Leigh, who simply wanted to shake things up and have some wholesome holiday fun with her hair, was told that it wasn't appropriate for school and that she could either take the style down or go home.

Christie then explained how her daughter achieved the holiday-inspired style: "She wrapped her hair around an empty bottle of Volvic water and then she asked me to put the lights in for her." Pretty genius, if you ask us. While not everyone appreciated Poppy's creative hairstyle, her mother said one teacher called it "fantastic," and well, sometimes it's the small wins that matter most, my friends. Nevertheless, the teen ended up taking the style down as the school's principal, Kevin Green, deemed it not suitable for school.

Green also spoke with the British publication and cleared up any confusion regarding the matter. "At no point did the Academy send a student home. The child concerned is a wonderful student and, whilst it was a remarkably creative hairstyle, it was, unfortunately, inappropriate for school," he said in his statement.

While it's unfortunate that Poppy had to take her hair down, we give her major props for trying such a cool, festive style and wearing it to school. We certainly won't be forgetting this holiday hair moment anytime soon.
