GEORGE TOWN: The 'suqiu' (appeal) in the planned Dec 28 gathering is related to vernacular education in the country and has nothing to do with race, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

GEORGE TOWN: The"suqiu" in the planned Dec 28 gathering is related to vernacular education in the country and has nothing to do with race, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka SiongThe MCA president said the suqiu was meant to question the implementation of Jawi calligraphy module in Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools, as well as to safeguard the authority of school boards in deciding school policies and follow the Cabinet decision in August in resolving the issue.

“Does Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad feel that the Chinese community has nothing else better to do then to organise it out of the blue just to pass time?” Dr Wee asked on his Facebook page on Saturday . The gathering, scheduled for Dec 28, is aimed at urging the government to do away with the module on Jawi script in vernacular schools, especially within the curricular.

The ministry had earlier announced that Jawi calligraphy module would be introduced in the Bahasa Melayu subject for Year Four students starting next year.

Only a fool will not see the hidden agenda.

This gathering should involve the Hindu communities as well since the implementation of Jawi will also effect their Tamil schools too.....

Jgn inclusive vernakular....Chinese not superior here..

Wee Ka Siong. We supports you on this matter. We should protect our Chinese dignity and integrity. We should not be intimated by the Malays. They are now being too racist and too much and tries to create problems for the Chinese communities.

Thus we'll work out till no jawi at all on every items you produce and even the halal logo also would be romanized to indicate its your's. Easier for us to buy it last.

.

And jawi teks are not about changing others religion.. Or imposing islamic teaching to non Muslim.. Its purely heritage of malaysia n. So why dong zong opposed jawi ? Often we saw packaging by chinese entrepreneurs seeking new markets and use jawi as part of strategy.

MCA? Bukan DAP kah

Ini MCA buang masa je..

For once I agreed with Wee Kosong

Vernacular schools cultivate this racist mentaliti incl Sek. Agama Rakyat. Yg buat kerja mcm ni pula tokey2 tuan punya sek swasta Cina. Elok suh diorg tutup je semua sekolah ni, cuba buka di ngra2 lain tgk boleh ke tidak.

ramai tahu DONG JIAO ZONG ni macai MCA...ulamak penyatuan ummah tak nak komen ker PASPusat ... fuck u

BS.....we need 1 school system only

Bila psl sekolah cina, semua bkn racist

It's about race-based schools defending the rights of race-based supremacists. No to integration & unity. Upholding the superiority of a 2nd or pseudo race-based Ministry of Education. Not against other races?

It's right!
