PETALING JAYA: The silence of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry over an application to include four non-MCA professionals as Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) board of trustees members is raising concerns.

said the application was submitted more than two months ago.

"However, the Government has yet to approve the application even though it has been more than two months," he said.As the president of MCA, I hereby confirm that TAA Education Trust Fund founding directors Datuk Yap Kuak Fong and Datuk Chan Wah Kiang and its CEO cum former TAR UC president Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok are all MCA members.

Since last year, Lim Guan Eng had said the 50% of the TAR UC Board of Trustees must be made up of independent members. All the while, the official definitions for"independent" or"non-related" have been very clear; they mean non-family members or non-employer and employee relationship or no business relationship.

From December this year onwards, Lim Guan Eng has started to change its tune, which is for TAR UC to have no relationship with any political parties; this is very strange.
