In this season of giving, an official of the Department of Education (DepEd) called on the personnel of the agency to help a colleague recently diagnosed with a rare muscular disorder.

“This is a call to the entire DepEd Community to come together in aid of a colleague in need,” said DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua. “It’s the season for giving, and this is the perfect opportunity to give and help out someone in need.”

Pascua, who is also a wild bird photographer and author of the coffee table book “Haring Ibon: The Great Philippine Eagle,” also spearheaded a fund-raising campaign to help Aquino. Aquino, 26, hails from San Pablo in Laguna and graduated from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños in 2015. DepEd said that Aquino, who is single, acts as the “sole bread winner of the family.”
